WICHITA FALLS, TX - U.S. Congressman Mac Thornberry received the Spirit of Enterprise award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Wednesday morning in Wichita Falls.
"Business is the foundation of our economy. That's where jobs come from. That's where better standard of living comes from. I think it's important for all of us to keep in mind we've got to keep the spirit of enterprise going in this country," Congressman Thornberry said.
He received the award for his support of pro-jobs and pro-growth policies in the first session of the 114th Congress.
"I always want to be for jobs, for economic growth for our area," Congressman Thornberry said.
The day after the Indiana primary Congressman Thornberry and others commented on the outcome.
"I was a little surprised, I guess on the other hand I've been surprised all year long about how this presidential race has been going and I suspect there's going to be more surprises to come," Congressman Thornberry said.
Congressman Thornberry does believe Texan voters will cast their ballot for the republican nominee, Donald Trump.
"There are other states that are much more up in the air and that's where we'll have to see. Sometimes it's those other states like Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania that decide who our next president is going to be," Congressman Thornberry said.
