Heroes of Texoma: Craig Rose

FORT SILL, TX (KAUZ) - Newschannel 6 is continuing to honor the Heroes of Texoma. Wednesday, we recognized U.S. Army PFC Craig Rose.

"Since he was probably five probably, he wanted to be in the military," his mother Sherry Rose said.

Craig comes from a military family.

"His grandfather was Navy, his mom and dad are Air Force, his brother-in-law was a Marine and brother was in the Army," Sherry said.

Craig graduated high school in May of 2014 and went to basic training in South Carolina that August.

"Right now he is wanting to go to college and be an officer and follow in his grandfather's footsteps and be a policeman," Sherry said.

Craig is stationed in Fort Sill but is serving a deployment in Korea.

"They're hard. This one, I can at least talk to him occasionally. It's not every day but the first two or three months are horrible," Sherry said.

But his loved ones could not be more proud of the decisions he's made to serve our country.

"I miss him, and I love him and I'm so proud of him," Sherry said.
