WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

The top junior boxer in Texas lives in Wichita Falls.
Emmanuel Carrillo, Jr. won the 2016 Texas State Junior Olympics, Texas Regional Junior Olympics and Texas Regional Golden Gloves.
"2016 has been a really good year for me," Carrillo, Jr. said. "We won the Golden Gloves at the Junior Olympics in Midland. At one of my recent fights, I won the national tournament, which got me on the national level. So I have started to win big time tournaments."
Carrillo, Jr., the top boxer in the state for his age, weight and division, is an amateur boxer for the Fallstown Boxing Team in Wichita Falls.
Carrillo, Jr. has been blessed with an opportunity to participate in the National Championships in Dallas, a place he said he would not be without his father Emmanuel Carrillo Sr.
"He is my biggest inspiration," Carrillo Jr. said. "He is the one that got me started in boxing. He is my dad, coach, teaches me everything about life and boxing."
The young boxer's mother, Daisy Carrillo, said she has confidence in her son.
"I am used to it at this point," Carrillo said. "I still get nervous, but not about him getting hit. It is the outcome that makes me nervous."
Carrillo Jr. has set high goals for his future.
"I want to graduate from college, become a pro boxer and try to win all the world championships, world titles and become the best boxer in the world," Carrillo, Jr. said.
Carrillo, Jr. is also a champion outside the ring.
He finished the school year at Ben Milam Elementary with straight A's and was selected for the Leadership, Education, Action and Development program.
The National Championships will be held June 26th-July 2nd.
Carrillo Jr. said all he wants to do is win it all.
We wish him the best!
