Scarberry Leads T-O Girls Field After 3 Rounds

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

ShaeBug Scarberry of Purcell, Oklahoma is the leader through three rounds of the Girls Open Flight at the Texas-Oklahoma Junior Golf Tournament.

Scarberry (-4) shot her second-straight round of 68 to pull in to the lead by one shot over Hanna Harrison of Plano, who is three-under par after shooting 2-under 70 on Wednesday on the Champions Course at Weeks Park.

Midwestern State signee Alexis (Lexi) Read of Bridgeport is alone in third place at 2-under after a 1-over 73 Wednesday.

Scarberry, Harrison and Read will make up the final group Thursday, teeing off from the 10th tee at Weeks Park at 9:40 a.m.

Second-round co-leader Taylor Dobson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma shot 78 Wednesday to sit in fourth place, ten shots behind Scarberry.

She'll be joined in the penultimate group by another MSU signee, Cheleen Cousins of Plano, who shot 1-under 71 Wednesday and is 14 back of the lead, and by Brenda Dominguez of El Paso, one shot behind Cousins after a 74 Wednesday.

Petrolia's Breanna Smith will be in the group before them, at 11-over par after an even-par 72, while Wichita Christian's Savanah Snyder, the defending champion, shot 2-under 70 and is 12-over.

Two other Texoma players made the cut, with Lawton's Jordan Lee shooting 82 and Graham's Ashley Choate shooting 81 to just qualify for Thursday. She'll tee off in the first group, at 7:30 a.m.
