WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - The Wichita Falls YMCA Soap Box Derby took place Saturday.
35 racers put their skills to the test along 9th Street, between Burnett and Scott Avenue.
There was also face painting, a bounce house and snow cones.
Brandon Brown, the race director, said this event is great for all kids.
"You don't have to be athletic to do this. You don't have to have any skills. It's just a way to get out here. I know my daughter is one of them that's racing, and we've been talking about it for weeks. So it's just a good time," said Brown.
All the funds raised from the race are used to help kids take part in programs at the YMCA.
