WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - The Texas heat did not stop Texomans from coming out to the Midwestern State University Autism Awareness 365 Fun Run on Saturday.
76 runners signed up for the 5k around Sikes Lake at MSU to help raise money for the Wichita Falls Autism Awareness.
Kara Lesperance, a member of the Council of Exceptional Children, said autism awareness needs to be spread all year.
"April is Autism Awareness Month, but this run is actually held in autism awareness 365, because we believe strongly that autism should be known about 365 days out of the year, not just one month," said Lesperance.
Those who put on the 365 Fun Run hope to make it an annual event.
