Former NFL quarterback speaks at Real Talk event

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - Former NFL quarterback for the Detroit Lions, Eric Hipple, spoke at the third Real Talk event held at Life Tabernacle in Wichita Falls Thursday night.
Hipple talked about bringing awareness to help break down the stigma surrounding depressive illness.
His message is important to him because it has had a direct effect on his own life.
"What got me here was something that was very real that happened to my family," Hipple said. "And I lost a son. He was 15-years-old. Through that loss, I went into a tail spin and almost didn't recover."
He did recover after his son's suicide by going to treatment and deciding to bring awareness to the cause.
Real Talk is a series of events free to Wichita Falls that highlights positive and influential voices that have a relevant message for the community.
