WFISD approves 2 new girls' basketball coaches

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - The Wichita Falls ISD board approved two new girls' basketball coaches Tuesday.

Wichita Falls High School's Lady Coyotes will be led by Amber Wiley. She comes to Texoma from Pflugerville Connally High School, near Austin, after reaching the playoffs there this past season. Previously, she coached in the Waco ISD at the middle and high school levels, and played one season at Tarleton State. She takes over for Joe Golding, who will stay at WFHS as head golf coach.

Hirschi's new coach will be KraTaura Buckner, and Old High graduate herself. She spent the past eight years at Uplift North Hills Prep in Irving, where she served as girls athletic director and coach. She played collegiately at Hardin-Simmons University. She'll take the place of the school's all-time wins leader, Leta Lofton, who left for Benbrook where she'll join former Hirschi football coach Cody Slater.

All three WFISD high schools will have new girls' basketball coaches, as Laura Holmes will replace Ramsey Ghazal at Rider.
