BURKBURNETT, TX (KAUZ) -

48 new jobs are coming to Burkburnett.
This came after Board of Commissioners passed a Burkburnett Development Corporation economic incentive agreement with Homewell Senior Care Inc.
It is bringing more than just jobs to the city.
It will provide additional healthcare for senior citizens in the area.
It will also be the first corporate franchise location in the United States.
"We're excited because we are not only looking at the economic impact on our end of the new job creation and what that can do for Burkburnett," Mike Whaley, City Manager of Burkburnett, said. "But also the service that they provide to our citizens, and we're excited to partner with them and move forward with this project."
Whaley said many people deserve credit.
"Credit needs to go to the Burkburnett Development Corporation," Whaley said. "It is because of their hard work in identifying existing businesses that have the potential for expansion that we can see projects like this move forward in Burkburnett."
Whaley believes it is important to invest in companies that will re-invest back into the community.
"You invest in those that you believe can sink roots in your community and re-invest back into that community," Whaley said. "And provide a service and a quality of life that will be provided to your citizens."
Homewell Senior Care Inc. is currently located on Kramer Road and will look to expand in the 800 block of Sheppard Road.
Whaley said there are many reasons to be excited about the expansion.
"Anytime you have an existing business where you can retain jobs and invest in them so that they can invest in your community and expand their job performance and creation of jobs in Burkburnett, that's a great thing," Whaley said. "That is a great thing for the community, the Burkburnett Development Corporation and for the city of Burkburnett."
The B.D.C will provide an economic incentive package worth $85,700.
The anticipated payroll for the 48 new employees is expected to be over one million dollars.
