Archer City council tables ordinance for flood control study

ARCHER CITY, TX (KAUZ) - There will not be a Flood Control Study conducted in Archer City.
But that does not mean there won't be one in the future.
The news comes after council members tabled an ordinance for a $35,000 study to look into flooding problems at four different locations.
Members said they are hesitant to spend so much money on something not directly linked to fixing the problem.
"I do personally hate to see $35,000 go to something like this," said Debra Haehn, Archer City Council Member. "But I know there is a big need."
The study would inform the city what needs to be done to fix the problem.
But it does not include actual repairs.
Council members now plan to look into financial options on how to pay for the study and any future work.
