IOWA PARK, TX (KAUZ) -

We have begun our journey through Iowa Park on our Hometown Pride Tour.
We stopped at the Sealed Air Plant, formerly known as Cryovac.
Sealed Air is a multinational corporation with over 25,000 employees in 175 countries.
The Iowa Park plant is the 2nd largest manufacturing operation in the Sealed Air North American network.
The plant has a strong impact on Iowa Park and the people who live there.
It is the largest employer operating in Iowa Park.
Employees said that is in large part to the fact the company has never had a layoff.
"One of the best things about Sealed Air is that they have never had a layoff," Operator, Johnny Villastrigo said. "I have been here 30 years. I have never felt threatened by that versus some other plants around the area that have laid off or shut down."
"If you remember back in the 1980's when the oil field crunch hit, a lot of people were without jobs," Films Operator, Phillip Shoemaker said. "This place stayed in business and created more jobs for those who lost their jobs. And I feel like they have helped this community a whole lot."
It is a 24/7 operation 361 days a year and is currently bringing close to 750 jobs to Iowa Park.
Donald Hebert, Site Manager, believes the community is at the heart of the plant's success.
"To me it is really about the people here," Hebert said. "When I first started here it was like no other place that I ever worked at. I came from New Orleans to Iowa Park. Big culture difference. I did not know anyone here and was welcomed with open arms. It was personal and went beyond work. People would ask me to come to their house, come to their party. The culture here is amazing."
The plant supports Iowa Park.
Sealed Air recently donated 37 acres of land to the school for future expansion.
They are involved in Relay for Life with the American Cancer Society, Project Back to School and the Angel Tree Project, just to name a few.
Herbert said their slogan tells the story.
"Sealed Air's vision is to create a better way of life," Hebert said. "And that is what we try to do with the products and services we offer. We also get involved in the community really trying to create a better way of life. In everything we do, that's important to us and who we are. That is our vision."
Hebert said the involvement is in large part to the employees.
"To me it is driven by the employees," Hebert said. "We don't go out and ask. They are asking us how to get involved. I think that is the big benefit that people think of it as a community. People are interested in being involved in the community and driving that forward."
In 1998 Sealed Air purchased the Cryovac Packaging business from W.R. Grace, although many still know it as Cryovac.
Fortune Magazine also recently recognized Sealed Air in its Most Admired Companies Rankings.
The original site purchased in 1975 was 220,000 thousand square feet under one roof.
The facility has now grown to 550,000 thousand square feet under one roof.
