YMCA Project Funding Nearly Complete

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

YMCA of Wichita Falls has been able to raise nearly 90% of the funds needed to complete a $13.5-million-dollar expansion project.

It's called "The Capital Campaign" and it would support multiple additions and upgrades to the southern YMCA Bill Bartley Branch located just off Southwest Parkway. That includes the addition of a new gymnastics center, double gymnasium, multi-sport indoor facility, youth development center, and a pool house.
Noel Filer is the Mission Advancement Director for the YMCA of Wichita Falls and said that the organization has raised just over $12 million dollars so far. Filer explained the campaign project would do more than just expand the facilities at the Bartley Branch she said it would also expand opportunities for kids in Texoma.

"It's really important to me and all the YMCA family that we help kids discover something that they are great at and that they feel good about themselves. We're talking about all children including those that have special needs," said Filer.
