New travel stop brings new jobs

QUANAH, TX (KAUZ) - A popular travel stop has made its home in Quanah. The 58th Texas location of Love's Travel Stop opened Thursday morning in Hardeman County.

"Love's has a great culture and I think we do a really good job of having a consistent customer service level that was a little bit above average I think," district manager Kirk Johnson said.

The 24-hour, 8,000 square foot facility is located off U.S. Highway 287 and Airport Road. On its first day of business, the parking lot and gas pumps stayed full. The new location is bringing in 35 jobs and area residents took advantage of the open positions.

"I'm really blessed to have come into this job. Love's seems to be a company that takes really good care of their people," customer service representative Erin Williams said.

The travel stop offers not only gourmet coffee, fresh fruit, and travel items but also a Chester's and Godfather's Pizza restaurants. A grand opening is taking place Friday morning at 10:00 am and Meals on Wheels of Quanah will be given a $2,000 donation by Love's.
