ARCHER COUNTY, TX (KAUZ) - A fire near Dundee gave firefighters a tough fight to put out the flames.
The fire started around 5 p.m. Sunday evening near Highway 277 and North Parkey Ranch Road.
The Holliday, Lake Kickapoo, Bowman and Archer City Fire Departments were all on the scene.
Holliday Fire officials said the rough terrain and uneven land, due to hills, added to the time it took them to put out the fire.
This forced firefighters to fight most of the flames on foot, taking them three and a half hours to get under control.
Officials said they still have to go back and take care of some of the hot spots.
At this time, they do not know the number of acres burned or the cause of the fire.
