YOUNG COUNTY, TX (KAUZ) - Two men were rescued from flood waters Saturday night in Young County.
Chief Wayne Peters, with the Young County Rural Fire Department, said it happened around 8 p.m. on the end of Lynnwood Drive and Dry Creek, East of Graham.
Chief Peters said the men drove their vehicle across the creek, but when it was time for them to come back the water rose to 8 feet.
Officials said where the rescue was performed is a low water crossing with a concrete bottom, and add it is usually passable.
However, last night the water was running too fast.
A fire truck ladder was used to reach the two men, and officials said they had to lasso life jackets to them in order to pull them to safety.
Chief Peters said the guys said they were going to wait it out, but ended up calling the fire department for help instead.
It took officials with the Young County Sheriff's Office and Young County Volunteer Fire Department about 25 minutes to rescue the men.
