WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

Midwestern State's Hanna Mattinson was tabbed the Lone Star Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Mustangs offense during an undefeated week, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.

Mattinson recorded her first collegiate goals in a 2-0-0 week for the Mustangs, defeating Texas A&M International, 2-1, on the road before downing Fort Lewis (Colo.), 1-0, in the home opener.

The freshman forward from Burleson tallied five points with one game winner in 83 minutes on the pitch last week. Mattinson netted her first collegiate goal against TAMIU, putting the Mustangs ahead 1-0 on a breakaway from midfield in the eighth minute. She also assisted on Jaden Green's game winner in the 86th minute, lifting MSU ahead 2-1 after the Dustdevils had recorded the equalizer just one minute prior.

Mattinson added to her weekly scoring total Sunday at MSU Soccer Field, converting a penalty kick in the 40th minute to propel Midwestern State to a 1-0 victory over FLC.

Mattinson currently ranks fourth in the LSC in goals (2) and fifth in goals per game (.400), points (5) and points per game (1.00).

Midwestern State wraps up its non-conference schedule Thursday with a 5 p.m. kickoff against Southern Nazarene (Okla.) at MSU Soccer Field.
