WICHITA FALLS, TX - No. 11 Midwestern State just couldn't get it going Sunday night at Memorial Stadium.

At least, until MSU fell behind. Then the Mustangs peeled off the final 21 points to roll to a 42-24 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State.

The game was originally postponed Saturday night due to lightning and torrential rainfall and resumed Sunday afternoon.

Oklahoma Panhandle State reeled off 17 consecutive points of its own to take a 24-21 lead after Sterling Claphan connected on a 22-yard field goal with 11:49 to play in the third quarter.

The Mustangs rolled out to a 14-7 lead prior to the lightning strike Saturday powered by a pair of Vincent Johnson touchdown runs (6, 1) before OPSU answered with a Shane Truelove-to-Andrew Hernandez scoring strike with 9:28 to play in the opening period. Following the ensuing kickoff, the game was delayed.

Quade Coward kickstarted MSU's comeback effort hitting true freshman Bryce Martinez on a crossing rout for a 40-yard touchdown as the Mustangs regained the lead for good at 28-24.

Sophomore Adrian Seales finished off a 10-play, 85-yard drive with a 2-yard scoring plunge to push the lead to 35-24 with 10:05 to play.

Coward capped off the scoring with his second touchdown pass of the day hitting Statron Jones on a bubble screen before Jones raced 73 yards for a TD.
