Driving Donations: Local Shelter Requesting Donations

Temperatures are getting colder and Faith Mission is asking for help from the community.
The Shelter sent out a plea requesting people to donate new underwear and socks of all sizes.
Faith Mission’s goal is to eliminate homelessness by providing opportunity and the means to help a people get back on their feet.
Vicky Payne, the Chief Development Officer for Faith Mission said the community is a big help in getting donations.

"We do have more people inside the shelter when it's really cold outside or raining,” said Payne.  “There is nowhere to go.  People need to know the need.  If they don't know the need they don't know how to respond."

Payne said they are also needing men’s jeans of all sizes and winter gear like coats, gloves, hats and scarves.
She said it is also never too early to start donating food for Thanksgiving.
There is no set amount of how many packs of socks and underwear you need to donate, the only requirement is that they are new.
