Fazekas collects Heartland Conference weekly honor

Midwestern State senior goalkeeper Noah Fazekas was tabbed the Heartland Conference Defensive Player of the Week Monday afternoon after recording a career high in saves and tallying a pair of shutouts to help No. 15 Midwestern State to first place in the league standings.

Fazekas doubled his career best in saves Saturday evening in a 2-0 road win against Oklahoma Christian, collecting 10 saves for his third-straight shutout and sixth clean sheet of the season. The Dallas native and Mansfield High product began the week with a 2-0 shutout win over Rogers State at MSU Soccer Field with three stops between the posts.
