Wichita Falls Police Department hosts meet and greet to connect with the community

Wichita Falls Police were out at Sam's Club Thursday for a meet and greet.

This gave the public an opportunity to meet officers from different units in the department and ask any questions or give any concerns they may have for the community.

Officer Jeff Hughes with Wichita Falls Police said the meet and greet is another way the department can make itself seen to the people in the community.

"The police and community relationship here in our city is phenomenal," said Officer Hughes.  "We know that our community supports us and with events like this we are able to set up and let our community know we are here for them as well."

While the department was there to interact with the community, they were also there to answer questions for anyone who was interested in becoming a police officer.  The deadline to apply on the department's website is Sunday.
