WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

The 12th annual Halloween in the Park kicked off Saturday afternoon.

Hundreds of families made their way to Lucy Park for the fun put on by the Parks and Recreation Department.

"It offers so many people the option take part in an event like this," Kim Hames with the Parks and Recreation Department said.

Kristina Fisher and her daughters were dressed up as a Starbucks barista, some coffee, and a donut.

"You can't go wrong with breakfast," Fisher said.

She chose to bring her girls to this event versus the normal alternative.

"I figured it's a lot safer out here than going door to door," she said.

The event that catered to children of all ages was something Kati Jones and her toddler were looking for.

"It seemed like a family friendly event. They had advertised it as being all ages. Because he is so little, it's really nice to have an event in our community that does allow kids his age to participate," Jones said.

The fun included a cake walk, bounce house and pumpkin decorating.
