WICHITA FALLS, TX - Trick-or-treat festivities took place nine days early in Wichita Falls. Newschannel 6 hosted its annual Safe Kids Halloween event at the Farmers Market downtown.
Kids dressed up in all kinds of costumes were given a variety of goodies as they walked through the market.
Some booths were handing out toothbrushes for those candy eaters. While others were giving away coloring books with a message.
Kenneth French with the Elks Lodge said this event allows their organization to have a positive impact on a lot of children.
" (We are able to reach) 1,500 to 2,000 kids and to give them a little brightness with a piece of candy. But more importantly we do distribute some thought provoking literature on drug awareness," French said.
The Elks Lodge has participated every year since Safe Kids Halloween began.
