Midwestern State University holds ribbon cutting ceremony for new building
Faculty, alumni and students were all on hand at Midwestern State University Friday for the grand ribbon cutting of the United Supermarkets Learning Commons.
The building is named after the company that helped fund the building.  The new center is part of a new resident hall that opened in August and includes a study room with state of the art chair and dozens of computers for students to use.

This is really an exceptional way for our students to bring that out of classroom experience and the classroom experience together, said Kristi Schulte, Director of Resident Life and Housing.   It's been fantastic to see how the students have been responding to the space because we think it's something that really helps bring them together and to promote that Midwestern since of feel.

Schulte said the goal is to make students feel at home in the new building, no matter how far away from home they really are.
