The Mustangs held a comfortable lead for the remainder of the game, stretching their lead to as many as 10 before going on to take a 2-0 lead.

Kiley Beaver hit .500 with six kills in the third set to lead Midwestern to a sweep with a dominant 25-12 win. A 10-1 run midway through the frame pushed the Mustangs to a 19-9 lead as Beaver and Garfield each recorded three kills in the spurt. The Mustangs finished strong down the stretch behind the serve of Erin Richburg with Beaver adding a pair of kills before an ace for Richburg capped off the match.
