Ibaka, Krtolica's double-doubles spur 102-72 drubbing of Our Lady of the Lake

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

No. 20-ranked Midwestern State turned up the turned up the intensity to rout Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) 102-72 Friday night in the Patterson Auto Family Classic at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
 
The Saints, who were ranked 14th in the NAIA Division I preseason rankings, were forced into misses on their first 11 shots over the first eight minutes of the game.
 
By the time Michael Hagen-Daniel drove to the bucket for a layup with 11:48 to go in the first half, the Mustangs already enjoyed a 16-point advantage.
 
MSU answered with a Magnus Richards dunk just seconds later and it never got any better for Our Lady of the Lake as the Mustangs pushed the advantage to 35 late in the second half to cruise to their fourth straight win to go to 4-0.
 
True freshman Logan Hicks dropped in a game-high 18 points and dished out five assists to lead a pack of five players in double figures while three others netted nine points.
 
Junior Igor Ibaka (16 points, 12 rebounds) and sophomore Nemanja Krtolica (12 points, 12 rebounds) recorded double-doubles as the Mustangs dominated on the glass for the first time this season by a 52-33 margin.
 
Midwestern drilled six 3-pointers, but fell shy of recording double-digit makes for the first time this season. The Mustangs more than made up for it by hitting 56.5 percent of their shots from the field while putting the lid on Our Lady of the Lake holding the Saints to a 34.3-percent shooting night.
 
Senior guard Pat Smith turned in a solid all-around outing going for 11 points, eight rebounds and five assists, while Sheldon Hagigal fired in 11 points and two 3-pointers in 12 minutes of action.
 
Magnus Richards, Brandon Neel and Devante Pullum all had nine points for the Mustangs.
 
P.J. Escobar buried four 3-pointers to finish with 18 points to lead OLLU.
