WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - More than just people are getting into the holiday spirit across Texoma. Buildings are getting in on the fun as well. The iconic Big Blue building in downtown
Wichita Falls has been lit up in festive blue lights since the City Lights Parade in November.
Co-Owner, Claro Villanueva said they want to create a visible skyline that drivers can see during the night, similar to cities like Dallas or Austin.
"It's very pretty and it makes it more attractive as people are coming down off I-44 from Oklahoma heading down to Dallas. They will see this thing that's lit up and hopefully they'll stop and check it out and come see how welcoming the town is," Villanueva said.
It took a lot of man work and two days to get all the lights up on the building before the City Lights Parade.
Those lights will stay lit at least until the holiday season is over.
But, Villanueva said he hopes to make Big Blue and other buildings around downtown light up all year.
