K-9 Unit assists in drug arrests

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

Wichita Falls Police Department K-9 Unit made a traffic stop at Kell West and Giddings on Wednesday that resulted in the arrest of two suspects for possession of marijuana and the manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.

A release by WFPD said the driver, 28-year-old Jacob McLaughlin, handed officers a green leafy substance that was identified as marijuana. It also states that after further investigation officers found a plastic baggy with what a crystal-like substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. Other drug paraphernalia including large amounts of cash were also found.

McLaughlin and his passenger, 24-year-old Anna Pierce, were taken to Wichita County Jail. A child was also taken into custody by Child Protective Services.
