Family welcomes first United Regional baby of 2017

WICHITA FALLS, TX -

One Wichita Falls family rang in the new year in an unexpected way.

Anthony Burns was the 1st baby of 2017 born at United Regional.

Both mom and dad were surprised that Anthony was making his way into the world Sunday and said he wasn’t due until the end of January.

Both mom and dad said the family is now going to be spending New Year’s Day differently.

“He wasn’t due for another couple of weeks,” said Burns.  “We were pretty surprised.  A little worried but everything has turned out for the best, so that’s all we can ask for.”

The Burns family welcomed Anthony to the world around 5:30 Sunday morning.

Mom Tresa Burns says her sister was the first baby born into the new year at United Regional in 1989.
