Midwestern State stranded a season-high 14 runners on base while committing four errors to allow Eastern New Mexico to plate nine unearned runs in a 9-7 Greyhounds win in eight innings Friday evening at Mustangs Park.

Eastern New Mexico (12-13, 5-2 LSC) carried the momentum in the early going, taking a 7-0 advantage in the third inning. The Greyhounds struck for four runs in the second with ENMU plating the first two runs on an infield fielding error by the Mustangs. Savannah Chandler followed in the next at bat with a two-RBI single to center for a 4-0 ballgame.

ENMU added to its lead in the third as two errors in the MSU infield early in the inning allowed the Greyhounds to continue their at bat. A two-RBI single through the left side for Kamalani Peneku gave the Greyhounds a 6-0 lead in the frame before a single down the left field line for Ashley Lopez pushed the score to 7-0.

Midwestern State (9-12, 2-5 LSC) left the bases loaded in second, third and fourth innings but managed to plate three runs during that span. The Mustangs put up their first run of the game in the third on an RBI single to left center for Taylor Mordecai. A single to right center for Kelcee Thompson in the fourth cut the ENMU lead to 7-2 before a bases loaded walk for Taylor Bermudes plated the third run.

The Mustangs pushed the game into extra inning following four runs in the bottom of the seventh. A double to left center for Lauren Lindgren scored Hannah Springs who earned a one-out walk earlier in the inning. Misty Muniz followed with a three-run blast to knot the game up at 7-7 to deliver her second game-tying home run in the seventh inning in as many games.

Errors continued to plague the Mustangs in the eighth after a two-out infield error allowed Peneku to score from second after leading off the frame with a double. Erikka Burke then hit a triple to left center field to stretch the ENMU advantage to 9-7 heading into the bottom of the inning. MSU was unable to mount another comeback in the inning with the Greyhounds escaping with the win in extras.
