Runners race to the finish at Xpress Marathon

WICHITA FALLS, TX -

Runners laced up their shoes Saturday morning to head out to the Annual “Xpress Marathon” at Memorial Stadium.

Runners had an option to take part in either the 5K, 12K, or half marathon race.

The event started 6 years ago to raise money for youth soccer in Wichita Falls.
This year, they money continues to go toward soccer, with proceeds going to FC Dallas Texoma.
The runners, took that first stride at 7 a.m.
“We have all the kids here helping and cheering them on,” said Chris Koetter a board member for Xpress Marathon.  “They are absolutely excited to be here and help it's just a fantastic deal.  It's awesome to see these runners to cheer them on to know that they're helping local kids.”

The marathon had over 200 people running in total.

In case you’re wondering, the first person to cross the finish line for the half marathon finish at just over an hour.
