AMARILLO, TX (KAUZ) - Texas DPS arrested two men on Wednesday who were transporting large packages of cash.
On Wednesday afternoon, troopers stopped a vehicle being driven by Yuma, Arizona resident Francisco Arellano and his passenger John Trumbo, also of Arizona on I-40 outside of Amarillo. The troopers discovered several black tape-wrapped packages of US currency concealed in the driver's side rear quarter panel and center console.
The money totaled over $149,000. The money was allegedly being transported from Chicago to Mexico.
The two men were arrested and charged with felony money laundering.
