WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

It was Health Hero Day at Christ Academy in Wichita Falls on Saturday.

Some of the Newschannel 6 crew was on deck bright and early in the morning to cheer on those participating and to help keep them hydrated by passing out waters.

There were several exercise options at the event to help promote healthy living. Like a 1-mile fun run, 5K and 10K run.

It might sound exhausting but those who came out did so for a good cause.

“We are here today to raise funds for our P.E. program, our campus improvement plan and to just have a fun healthy fitness day for our students and all of our community,” said Kristen Goodgion, the event coordinator.

Those who came out even got the chance to take part in some fitness classes like kickboxing, FIT4MOM bootcamp and Figure Fabulous stretching.

During the class sessions, the Christ Academy had its Sports Academies leading expos and games so students could see all the sports the school has to offer.
