WICHITA COUNTY, TX (KAUZ) -

The County Health Rankings have been released.

The rankings are put together by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute along with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

The Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District said this is the 7th year the county has received these rankings which provide an overall picture of health in the county compared to other counties across the state and nation.

The county's overall "health outcomes" ranking went from 144 to 150 in the state of Texas. That is out of 243 counties included in Texas.

Improvements were seen in the "health factors" category which includes health behaviors, clinical care, social & economic factors and physical environment.

Adult smoking is down 1-percent as well as physical inactivity.

There were, however, slight increases in poor or fair health, poor mental health and low birth weight babies.
