Texas Work Force Commission: State economy expanded in February

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - The Texas Workforce Commission said the state economy expanded in February with the addition of 6,700 seasonally adjusted non-farm jobs.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased from 4.8 percent in January to 4.9 in February.

TWC officials said the Education and Health Services industry also recorded the largest private-industry employment gain over the month of February with 1,700 jobs added.

Leisure and Hospitality employment grew by 4,400 jobs and Manufacturing employment expanded by 3,900 jobs.
