NOCONA, TX (KAUZ) - TxDOT wants drivers to be aware of changes coming to three intersections in Nocona.
The city of Nocona and TxDOT have a project scheduled to begin in May that will install a new traffic signal at the intersection of U.S. 82 and State Highway 175 to Montague.
The span wire signal supports on U.S. 82 and FM 103 also known as Clay Street will also be replaced with new poles and mast arms.
TxDOT officials said the offset between FM 103 and State Highway 175 has caused some safety and operational concerns that these new traffic signals will fix.
TxDOT also plans to make improvements to how traffic moves through the intersection of U.S. 82 at Grayson and Decatur Street.
Right now, this intersection is cycling through Red, Amber, and Green.
But on Monday, April 10th, the traffic on Grayson and Decatur Streets will have a flashing red stop, while motorists on U.S. 82 will see caution yellow flashing lights.
TxDOT said flash mode will kick off on April 10th and the construction of the new traffic signals will take place this summer.
