HOLLIDAY, TX (KAUZ) - One of the two women killed in a head-on collision Thursday afternoon just outside Wichita Falls was a substitute teacher for Holliday ISD.
Nancy Day, 69, has been working with the school district for nearly a decade.
Superintendent Kevin Dyes released a statement about the impact Day had there.
"Mrs. Day was a valued member of our school community as a substitute teacher for the past 9 years. She always exhibited a positive and caring attitude towards students and staff. Mrs. Day had a heart for students, teachers and loved substituting at Holliday. We considered Mrs. Day a part of our family and she will be greatly missed by the students and staff of Holliday ISD," Dyes said in a statement.
Both Day and Nancy Wagenfuehr, 51, hit head-on after Day veered into oncoming traffic on TX-79 near Edwards Way and Elliot Road.
