More than $200,000 worth of heroin seized in panhandle

Two pounds of heroin was taken off the streets during a traffic stop northeast of Amarillo on Thursday. 

DPS Troopers stopped a car driving along IH-40 near Conway just after 7:00 p.m. for a traffic violation. 

The trooper found several latex-wrapped pellets of heroin underneath the rear passenger seat. 

The cargo estimated to be worth $213,000.

The driver, Marvin Trampe-Chacon, 26, of Guatemala was arrested and hauled off to the Carson County Jail. 

He is charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. 

The drugs are believed to be from Los Angeles and were headed to Oklahoma City.
