SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE (KAUZ) - Romania has been granted entry into the ENJJPT program at Sheppard Air Force Base.
Interested was expressed by Romania in 2015 when a delegation from the Romanian government visited the 80th Flying Training Wing to get more information about the ENJJPT program.
Sheppard Air Force Base officials said the last partner to join the program was Spain in 1996.
The semi-annual Steering Committee of all partner members met at SAFB in early March with all but one signature finalized.
Portugal signed the agreement on March 21st and preparations began to welcome Romania as a new partner.
The Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program is an international pilot training program hosted at Sheppard Air Force Base.
More than 7.300 fighter pilots have been trained through the program since 1981.
It is the only internationally managed and manned undergraduate training program in the world.
