BREAKING: Former WFPD officer in prison for manslaughter is granted parole

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - According to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice website, Teddie Lynn Whitefield has been granted parole.

We do not know at this time if he has already been released or is awaiting release.

The former Wichita Falls Police Officer was sentenced to 8 years in prison in January 2015 for three counts of Manslaughter.

In June 2011, Whitefield's patrol car hit a Pontiac Grand Am that Yeni Lopez and Gloria Montoya were in. Lopez was pregnant at the time.

Both women died.

A previous request for parole was denied.
