AMARILLO, TX (KAUZ) - More than $300,000 worth of marijuana was seized during a traffic stop in west Texas Tuesday.
DPS troopers stopped a vehicle in Carson County along IH-40 near Conway, for a traffic violation just after 11:00 p.m.
A Gray County canine unit was brought to the scene to check out the vehicle.
After the dog alerted to something inside the vehicle troopers found multiple vacuum-sealed packages inside a speaker box in the vehicle. The total weight was 50 pounds.
The marijuana is worth $303,000.
Michael Pham, 26, of Oakland California and Jimmy Wong, 25, of San Francisco, California were arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Marijuana.
Both were hauled off to the Carson County Jail.
Authorities believe the drugs were being taken from San Francisco to Memphis, Tennessee.
