New District Advisory Committee votes in favor of District of Innovation

The 2017-2018 District Advisory Committee voted in favor Thursday afternoon for the District of Innovation plan.

This is following the selection of a new District Advisory Committee made up of 15 members.

Ashley Thomas with WFISD said the district wants a 2017-2018 committee since the District of Innovation is expected to go into effect next year.

She said there were a few people on the old committee that had to leave for health reasons and there was also not a teacher representative for the new Career Center.

Members of the DAC will serve either one or two years.

The next step will be for the school board to re-vote on the District of Innovation plan.
