WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - Christina June Peyton has entered a plea an hour before her murder-for-hire trial was supposed to begin.
Peyton was set to stand trial for her murder charge on Monday in the 30th District Court.
Jury selection was set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
But she took a plea deal for Criminal Solicitation of Capital Murder.
Peyton was sentenced to 18 years in prison with nearly two years credited to the time she has already spent behind bars.
Peyton and her husband, Jeffrey Peyton, were accused of trying to hire someone to kill their daughter's boyfriend.
Her husband pleaded guilty earlier this year and was sentenced to 21 years in prison.
