WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

April 11th is known as National Pet Day. The day was founded by Celebrity Pet Lifestyle Expert and Animal Welfare Advocate Colleen Paige in 2005 according to nationaldaycalendar.com.

Ways to observe this holiday include taking supplies to pet shelters, helping a friend with pets who is recovering from an illness or adopting a pet.
