WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

The Wichita Falls Nighthawks are 5-1, with one of the best offenses in the Indoor Football League. But they could be about to get even better.

Last week they traded for Demarius Washington, the reigning IFL Offensive Player of the Year. He sat out Saturday's win over Salt Lake, but is expected to suit up Friday when the Nighthawks host 1-5 Cedar Rapids at 7:05 p.m.

In 4 games for the Arizona Rattlers this season, Washington had 14 catches for 215 yards and 4 touchdowns, leading the team in yards per game.

In 2016 for the Colorado Crush, he led the league in receiving yards and ranked second in the league with 25 receiving touchdowns on his way to the Player of the Year honors.

He said Wednesday that he feels like he's fit right in with the team, and that he's quickly learning the playbook.
