WICHITA COUNTY, TX (KAUZ) - Wichita Falls Police have released the names of the two people arrested over the weekend for endangering children in their care.
Police got a call around 4:00 p.m. Saturday about a box truck driving down U.S. 287 near Fisher Road with kids sticking their arms out of the cargo area of the truck.
The caller followed the moving truck to the Walmart in the 5100 block of Greenbriar. When officers arrived on scene they identified the driver and passenger to be Dustin Sisk, 32, and his wife Hannah Maland, 24.
When officers asked if anyone was in the cargo area of the moving truck, Sisk said two children, ages 5 and 7 were in the back due to there not being enough room in the cab.
Police said they observed several heavy items that could have fallen on the children. They did not see any food or water and the temperature at the time was 84 degrees. However, they did state the children were unharmed.
Sisk and Maland were arrested and charged with two counts of Endangering a Child. Sisk was also charged with Possession of Marijuana after less than two ounces was found in the center console.
Child Protective Services were notified and took custody of the children.
