BURKBURNETT, TX (KAUZ) -

Several Texoma athletes signed to play their sports in college on Wednesday.

Burkburnett softball standout Mackenzie "Mac" Hooker signed to play for Lubbock Christian. She has been a four-year starter behind the plate at catcher for the Lady Bulldogs and is batting .395 as a senior this season. The Lady Chaps are NCAA Division II members in the Heartland Conference.

Bowie volleyball star Karlyn Dean also signed Wednesday, to play for Blinn Junior College in Brenham. Dean, a 5'10" hitter for the Lady Rabbits, was a three-year starter who as a senior helped lead Bowie to its first-ever Regional Tournament appearance.

In Windthorst, 3-sport star Bryson Hackley signed to play baseball for the Aggies of Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma. He's been named to all-district teams in both baseball and football for the Trojans. OPSU recently re-classified back to NAIA after a few seasons at the Division II level, and will begin competing in the Sooner Athletic Conference this coming school year.
