WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - An Oklahoma man is behind bars in Wichita County more than nine months after sheriff's deputies said he assaulted another man.
On June 3, 2016, Wichita County Sheriff's deputies were called out to a home in the 4400 block of Ulen Lane for an unresponsive subject.
When they entered the residence they found the victim sitting on a futon bed in the living room with dried blood all over his face.
Deputies said the victim's left eye was swollen shut and his right eye was swollen with blood vessels visibly popped. There was also swelling on both of his cheeks.
According to the arrest, affidavit blood was spattered along the wall near where the victim was sitting and blood was on the floor near his feet.
When asked what happened the victim said two days before he was assaulted by Garrett David Donart, 21.
The victim said Donart and a woman had 'worn out their welcome' at his home so he tried to get them to leave. That is when he said he was attacked by Donart.
The victim was taken to United Regional Hospital and then to a hospital in Fort Worth to be treated for his injuries.
Donart was later interviewed by the Wichita County Sheriff's Office and admitted to the assault and leaving the victim without calling for help.
He was arrested on Friday and charged with Aggravated Assault and is sitting behind bars in the Wichita County Jail on a $150,000.
