WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - The American Red Cross is asking for something they normally give, help.
Wednesday is Red Cross Giving Day. It is a time when the non-profit asks for donations from the public in order to continue to provide the services it does to hundreds of thousands of families across the country.
Every year the Red Cross responds to nearly 64,000 disasters.
More than 32,000 Red Cross officials opened nearly 800 emergency shelters providing 206,000 overnight stays, more than 4.1 million meals and snacks, and distributed more than 2.1 million relief items.
The Red Cross depends on the donations of others to help people affected by disasters.
