DALLAS, TX (KAUZ) - The names of the suspected shooter and victim have been released in connection to a murder-suicide in a Dallas office tower Monday morning.
Police have identified Mathew Kempf, 60, as the shooter and said he entered the office building off the Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway near U.S. 75 and shot his boss, Lana Claudine McAree, 48.
Officers said Kempf then turned the gun on himself.
The shooting took place just after 10:00 a.m. with people being asked to evacuate the building around 10:30 a.m.
The scene unfolded on the seventh floor of the office building. An investigation into the motive behind the shooting is ongoing.
