IOWA PARK, TX (KAUZ) - Friends of 20-year-old Nathan Ewing's family are planning a memorial golf tournament in his honor. Ewing, a former Iowa Park High School student, was shot and killed on his birthday Monday, April 24th in Norman, Oklahoma.
Cody Parks, one of the Nathan Ewing Memorial Golf Tournament organizers, was Ewing's youth pastor and he grew up with his parents. He said he was really close with Ewing.
The money raised from the tournament will go to the family to pay for any expenses. His funeral will take place Saturday, April 29th at 11 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park.
The golf tournament will take place on Sunday, June 25th at River Creek Golf Course on 1605 FM 1177, Burkburnett, Texas 76305.
It's a four-man team tournament that will cost $75 dollars per person. Corporations who look to sponsor the tournament will have a banner displayed for $500 dollars. Hole sponsorship is $150. A silent auction and food will be served after the tournament.
